Our recent AGM appointed a New Standing Committee. I would like to welcome Andy Doughty, Dave Cleveland, Dave Vodden, James Bellew, Mike Aldrich, Steve Bridge, Terry Tedman, Tim Jones and myself to the new team. The New Standing Committee recognise the feelings, and some deep seated, expressed at the AGM and will now endeavour to move forward in the best interest of all at the meeting in a transparent and fair manner. The aim will be to facilitate, with our best efforts, the enjoyment and camaraderie of the Morgan sports car within the Thames Valley Centre and the Morgan Sports Car Club, in general.
In the first instance and on behalf of the New Standing Committee for the Thames Valley Centre, I would like to thank: Ann & Brian Miller, Carol Rose, Geoff & Sue Giles, Mike Smith, Phil Cripps, Roger Prior and Tim Marsh for their work and contribution to the Committee. Many thanks with my best wishes for your future involvement in the Morgan Sports Car Club. And I am sure you will all like to wish all the best for the new team going forward.
We now need to think about some events and I can start with some good news; I am very pleased to be able to say we have been invited back to RAF Benson on Thursday 24th July for their family day and air show. The organisers at RAF Benson request that all vehicles are to be on site by 10:30. Flying displays start at 12:00. It's OK to leave any time after about 16:00. The event continues into the evening for the families of service people. The organisers require the following details: Vehicle Make, Model, Registration Number, Colour; Full Names of Driver and all passengers. Separate and numbered passes will be issued for each vehicle and person. These will have been sent to the Dave Cleveland and he will then forward these to you so please provide a postal address (just one per vehicle). I would like to thank Dave very much indeed for coordinating this marvellous event. Last year Terry and Teresa Tedman and I stayed on to watch the RAF Typhoon take off – a breath taking sight. It is a great day out if you can make it.
As I mentioned last month Tim Jones is organising a trip to Mapledurham. Details are available on the events page
Tim aims to fill the boat/tour with Morgan club members, although this is not necessary for this trip to be viable. If you would like to express your interest please contact Tim on
