I would like to draw to your attention that this month we have a special Hog Roast being held on the July 23rd, Mike Aldrich is organising this event for Thursday evening at the Bird In Hand. Please contact Mike Aldrich if you would like to come along. It should be a fun additional noggin at this venue. I hope you can make it. All Centres are welcome to join us.
On July 26th we will visit the Bronze-Age Uffington White Horse. Please meet at 11.00 in the main car park (SN7 7UK). Given enough energy we may make it to the highest point in Oxfordshire.
Next month, August, we have our visit to the Fawley Hill railway museum visit just outside Henley on Thames. Our Morgan Sports Cars will be display amongst the exhibits. This is a rare opportunity that for any rail enthusiast is a must. The rides on the steam train around the grounds are wonderful. A particular favourite for me is the massive model railway set. I could watch this in operation all day. We have a few tickets left, please contact Terry Tedman if you would like to join us. I hope you will be able to come along for this special day out. Again, all Centres are welcome to join us.
In September we have a vineyard tour and wine tasting at the Bothy Vineyard. Two years ago we had a very enjoyable afternoon on a guided tour of the Bothy Vineyard, followed by wine tasting, led by the very knowledgeable owner, Richard Liwicki. So we hope you would like to join us for a return visit. The price for the tour, wine tasting and canapés is £13.50 per person. If you are interested, please contact Steve Bridge.
Since our AGM, and before, we have been generating messages from our website providing newsletters and reminders of upcoming events. This efficient way of working has taken some investment in time but has been worthwhile for improved communications. On behalf of the Centre, I would like to thank David Vodden and Steve Bridge our Web Master and Communications Officer respectively. Between them, working as a team, have got this system working well. Well done to you both.
