It is with great sadness that I am reporting the passing of Judy Mitchell in March. Judy and her husband Quentin had been regular supporters of ThamesMOG being members for many years. They had moved to Kent just before Christmas, and in January this year Judy and Quentin had joined us for our New Year Dinner. To quote Quentin, “Judy really enjoyed being a Moganeer”. I would like to pass on our sincere love and condolences to Quentin and to Judy’s family at this sad time. You will all be in our thoughts.
On a happier note, it is with great pleasure that I can report that the Chairman of the Morgan Motor Company, Dominic Riley, will be joining us on May 11th for our AGM. We had hoped the CEO of the Morgan Motor Company, Steve Morris, would have been with us but due to business commitments he is now unable to join us. Dominic is looking forward to meeting the Centre’s members, and we should have a rewarding evening. Please contact me if you are planning to come so we can ensure you will all be accommodated.
As many of you will have heard, Andy Doughty has, due to recent commitments, stepped down after many years as the Noggin Steward of the Harte and Magpies Third Sunday of the Month Noggin and the annual Christmas dinner. On behalf of the Centre, I would like to thank Andy very much indeed for his administration of this noggin over the years and I wish him all the best for the future.
I am happy, however, to let you know that Christopher Nickless has kindly offered to take on Andy’s old role as Noggin Steward. On behalf of the Centre, I would like to thank Christopher for taking on the stewardship and I wish him all the best in his new role. For our National Trust visit this month, we have a visit to Ashdown House with its Dutch-style house and its surrounding woodland. Please meet in the car park from 11:00 onwards on 23rd April, Lambourn, Newbury, Berkshire, RG17 8RE.
Don’t forget you can join us for a boat trip with cream tea along the River Wey, at Guildford, on Sunday 28th May. The trips take about 40 minutes and heads towards Guildford, passing what used to be the manufacturing quarter, with the Electric Theatre - the former electricity works for Guildford until 1868, and the site of Moon's timber yard - now Debenhams. At the wharf, visitors can see where the huge Wey barges were built and climb aboard 'Reliance', one of three surviving barges.

ThamesMOG member Graham Larby has been offered, on behalf of the club, free entry for up to 30 cars and drivers to the ‘Masters Historic’ race meeting on Sunday May 28th.
Masters is the leading organiser and promoter of historic motor racing. In May, Masters will run its annual and successful Brands Hatch Masters Festival where the FIA Masters Historic Formula One and FIA Masters Historic Sports Car Championships will be joined on the Grand Prix circuit by Gentlemen Drivers, Pre-66 Touring Cars as well as invitation grids from the Super Touring, Stirling Moss Trophy and Woodcote Trophy.
This offer is for free entry for a car (Morgan) and driver on Sunday May 28th. Passenger tickets will have to be ordered by the driver from the Brands Hatch website.

They appear to be our badges but we would like to point out that these sales are nothing to do with us or our previous suppliers. They are very highly priced, and please remember we can supply Thames Valley car badges new at the nominal club price. If you see any regalia out there and are interested please check with us first.
