We received a warm welcome to our re-started Thursday evening Noggin at The Bell and Bottle AKA the Javatree Restaurant, Littlewick Green, with us meeting there face to face. This is our regular 1st Thursday of the month Noggins. It had been a long time. David Williams had popped in a while ago and booked us up. It was wonderful to see people in the flesh again, so to speak. Let’s hope the new freedom day, July 19th 2021, goes ahead - deja vu.
At the noggin we had the pleasure of welcoming new members for their first noggin. Paul and Ros Broderick arrived in their desirable mid-nineties Plus 8 and Scott Webster came along on the lookout for a Roadster. Scott got some useful advice from Tim Jones an owner of a rather beautiful example. Good luck on your search Scott. Paul furnished a finely made aluminium radiator that he plans to fit in his Plus 8, sourced from outside of the EU and the UK. I hope we will see you all again very soon.
Sadly, our planned visit to The Battle of Britain Bunker on 24th June had to be cancelled. It was very much an all for one and one for all type of situation. There will be a full report when we do make our visit. Watch this space.
Don’t forget, along with many other Morgan Centres, we will be at the Bentley Drivers Club meeting at Silverstone on Saturday 7th August. This club meeting will feature two races each for the Aero Racing Morgan Challenge and MGB GTV8s along with grids for FISCAR (Fifties Sports Car racing Club), Ecurie Classic Racing, BDC Classic Challenge (incorporating the Morgan Techniques Trophy) and an All comers scratch plus TVRCC Challenge. The Bentley Drivers Club meeting is a very friendly affair. Families take picnics and sit in the sun or the grandstands to watch the racing, or wonder around the paddock to admire the vintage Bentleys; look at the many variety of race cars; and talk to the drivers. There is usually a large contingency of Morgans from the local centres who park up at Corpse Corner.
Also in August we have been invited to attend the RAF Benson Families Day on Thursday 19th. The deadline has passed for entries but for all those that will be going with David Cleveland, I hope you will all have a lovely day.
