This month brings us the ever exciting Brighton Speed Trials weekend. I would like to congratulate Mike Hughes for finishing his rebuild of his special Morgan that has an interesting race pedigree. Mike and his son Harvey have just returned from Classic Le Mans where they put their newly refurbished Morgan through its paces: Roadsters look out! We hope to have a full report in a future edition of our newsletter, presently. I mention this as soon Mike will be giving me a run for my money at the tremendous Brighton Speed Trials event. I shall have to think about a few modifications.
During the Brighton Speed Trials weekend, for those of you coming down, Brighton Centre will be holding a Sunday lunchtime noggin on the day after the trials. Please see Brighton Centre notes for details. It often makes a good stopping off place for the journey back to Thames Valley Land. We may organise a night out on Saturday evening, please get in touch for the latest details. A visit to Prompt Corner again, would be just the ticket! It should be a great weekend I hope you can make it.
As a supplement to our Charity Challenge, we are holding a special event this autumn with Richard Thorne Classic Cars. We shall be holding a themed Halloween party, on of course, Friday 31st October. Please contact Helen Thorne or myself to lodge your interest; more details to follow soon. All proceeds from the evening will go to our designated charity for 2008. It should be a great evening. I hope to see you there.
On a housekeeping note, we have one or two emails that are not getting through to their intended destinations, you know people change addresses, etc. So the following people are not currently receiving our emails/newsletters at the moment: Brian Taylor, Jim Tebby, and Stu Ross. Clearly, if our emails aren't getting through, we can't tell you we are having a problem. Hence, if you are reading these notes and you would like to hear from us again, please do send us your latest email address; many thanks.
Our next great walk with our friends from Hopmog starts off at the Seven Stars pub, Ripley in Surrey on Sunday 28th September 2008. See our events page for more.
